Establishment Labs (ESTA): A New Opportunity Is Taking Shape
The rapid adoption of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs is creating some unexpected investment opportunities outside the pharmaceutical industry. One that has caught our attention is Establishment Labs (ESTA), a breast implant maker that could benefit from growing demand for cosmetic procedures following significant weight loss.
The trend is already showing up in the numbers. Roughly one in eight U.S. adults reported taking a GLP-1 drug such as Ozempic in 2025. That same year, the U.S. cosmetic surgery market grew 7%, while breast augmentation procedures increased 11% and breast lifts rose 8%. Several cosmetic procedure categories commonly associated with post-weight-loss patients grew more than 20%.
That creates an interesting backdrop for Establishment Labs as it expands its presence in the U.S. market.
The company’s Motiva breast implants are already gaining traction. U.S. breast augmentation procedure growth accelerated by 10% as the Motiva launch coincided with increasing demand tied to GLP-1-driven weight loss. Establishment Labs also has another product, Preservé, that was only in a limited U.S. launch during 2025, giving the company another potential avenue for growth as availability expands.
We think the timing is particularly attractive. GLP-1 adoption is increasing the number of people experiencing substantial weight loss, which can lead some patients to seek procedures such as breast augmentation, breast lifts and other forms of cosmetic surgery. At the same time, Establishment Labs is broadening its product portfolio in the U.S., putting it in a good position to capture some of that demand.
The stock trades around $75 per share. Despite jumping nearly 4% following the latest bullish call, shares remain down about 1% for the year.
TD Securities recently reiterated its Buy rating on Establishment Labs and set a $117 price target, representing about 68% upside from Tuesday’s closing price. The broader analyst outlook is also unusually bullish. All nine analysts covering the company rate the stock either Buy or Strong Buy, according to LSEG. The average price target is $103.38, roughly 38% above the recent share price.
We’re especially interested in Establishment Labs because the opportunity isn’t dependent on GLP-1 drugs themselves. The company stands to benefit from a secondary effect of their growing adoption, just as its own U.S. product lineup is expanding.
With cosmetic surgery volumes accelerating, breast augmentation procedures up 11% in 2025, Preservé still early in its U.S. rollout and Motiva gaining traction, we think Establishment Labs has several potential growth drivers working in its favor. At around $75 per share, the stock offers an intriguing way to invest in a market that could continue expanding as GLP-1 use becomes more widespread.
