CoreWeave (CRWV): Sharp Pullback Could Create an Attractive AI Opportunity

The AI infrastructure trade has produced some of the market’s biggest winners, but not every leader has continued climbing. We believe CoreWeave (CRWV) deserves another look after a significant pullback that may have shifted the risk-reward profile in investors’ favor.

Shares have fallen about 35% over the past three months and now sit roughly 48% below their 52-week high of $153. That decline has been driven by concerns over the company’s rising debt load and increasing competition, but we believe the long-term demand outlook remains compelling.

CoreWeave occupies a leadership position in cloud infrastructure built specifically for AI workloads. As more enterprises adopt open AI models and sovereign AI initiatives continue gaining traction, demand for high-performance computing capacity could broaden well beyond today’s customer base.

The company also appears to trade at a meaningful discount to other neocloud providers despite its strong position in the market. If management proves that current six-year GPU depreciation assumptions are conservative, there could also be additional upside through future margin expansion.

Investor concerns have centered on two issues. First, interest expense more than doubled during the first quarter, raising questions about the sustainability of the company’s debt-funded growth strategy. Second, Meta announced plans to offer excess AI computing capacity to third-party developers, creating a potential new competitor in the AI cloud market.

While those risks deserve attention, we believe they may be manageable. Meta remains an existing CoreWeave customer, and even if future contracts are not renewed, growing enterprise demand for AI computing capacity could help absorb that available infrastructure.

The stock trades around $83 per share. Truist recently upgraded the shares to Buy while setting a $126 price target, which implies roughly 58% upside from recent levels.

Wall Street remains broadly constructive on the name. According to LSEG data, 24 of the 38 analysts covering CoreWeave rate the stock either Buy or Strong Buy. The average price target stands at approximately $140, suggesting nearly 69% upside from current levels.

After a steep correction, CoreWeave offers investors an opportunity to buy a leading AI cloud infrastructure company at a substantially lower valuation than just a few months ago. If enterprise AI demand continues expanding as expected, we believe the recent pullback could prove to be a compelling entry point.
